Johns Hopkins University is Empowering Veterans for High-Paying Real Estate Careers

by | Jun 17, 2024 | News

Johns Hopkins University is spearheading an initiative to help veterans transition to high-paying jobs in the real estate industry, leveraging their unique skills and experiences.

The university’s MS in Real Estate & Infrastructure program aims to equip veterans with the knowledge and expertise needed to thrive in the rapidly evolving real estate market.

Prioritizing Proven Leaders

It goes without saying, but military veterans bring invaluable qualities to the table, including leadership, individual discipline, and the ability to operate under pressure.

“Veterans have a discipline and a work ethic already built in, which is missing out there in the workforce today,” said Dr. David Phelps, a nationally recognized finance and real estate expert, recently in Newsmax. “They’re more mature, and they’ve already lived some life in some tough situations already. Ultimately, they get up every day and get after it.

“The character attributes veterans bring to the table are awesome assets for employers.”

Going Above and Beyond

The program at Johns Hopkins goes beyond traditional real estate education, diving deep into commercial real estate, finance, agriculture, new development, and infrastructure.

“That’s why we’ve chosen to specifically seek out veterans for our program,” Seydina Fall, the program director added, emphasizing the importance of combining a comprehensive curriculum with the unique traits of vets.

“They have stronger leadership skills and often have been placed in leadership roles far earlier than their civilian counterparts. And it goes without saying that the stakes are far higher in a military environment vs the civilian world, so their lead ship skills have been “pressure tested” in some of the harshest scenarios you can imagine. Employers can leverage that to build more capable and dynamic teams.”

To further this mission, Johns Hopkins is hosting an event on June 25, 2024, featuring top real estate experts such as Kim Kiyosaki, Dr. David Phelps, Lori Greymont, and Army veteran Jason Anderson.

The event will provide insights on navigating the current real estate market, future expectations, and strategies to succeed despite today’s challenges.

Empowering Those Who Put it All on The Line

This initiative not only aims to empower those who served our nation while they embark on the next chapter of their lives, but also addresses a significant need in the real estate industry for individuals with strong leadership and adaptability.

By providing veterans with a solid foundation and ongoing education, Johns Hopkins University is serving those who served us all by helping these men and women build successful and financially rewarding careers.

Interested attendees can register for the event on Eventbrite, where they will have the opportunity to learn from industry experts and network with other professionals.
