Rand Paul Accuses Fox News Anchor Brian Kilmeade of Lying Over Tiktok Bill

Get your popcorn ready because we’ve got ourselves a classic showdown between Senator Rand Paul and Fox News Host Brian Kilmeade over the latest government intrusion into our digital lives.

The Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applicants Act sailed through the House of Representatives, because nothing screams liberty like the government telling us which apps we can or can’t have on our phones. The legislation gives ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, an ultimatum: sell 80% of their shares to an American company or get booted from US app stores within 180 days.

But leave it to Senator Paul to rain on the parade of big government control. When Kilmeade parroted the line that ByteDance is “owned by China,” Paul wasn’t having any of it. “No, it’s not. See, that’s a lie,” he snapped back. “You’re defaming the company.”

Paul called out this bill for what it really is: a threat to American free speech and due process. Paul exclaimed, “You’ve just told a lie, Brian. You can’t say on TV something that is a lie about a company.”

Whether this draconian bill will make it past the Senate is anyone’s guess. It’s facing criticism from both sides of the aisle, with Democrats like Ilhan Omar and Jim Himes giving it a firm thumbs-down, and even some Republicans, like Marjorie Taylor Greene, seeing through the facade of “national security.” Rumored Trump VP shortlisters Tulsi Gabbard and Vivek Ramaswamy also came out swinging against the bill.

If this monstrosity does somehow slither its way through the Senate, we’ve got ol’ Joe Biden waiting eagerly to sign it into law. Because nothing says “America” like Republicans bending over backward to give up more power to their opponents.

And let’s not forget the cherry on top: potential retaliation from the Chinese government. China might throw a hissy fit and ramp up trade tensions, escalating tensions between our two countries even more at a time that we hardly need it.

God bless the land of the free, huh? As usual, Rand Paul stands tall in opposing big government attacks on individual liberty in the USA.
